Lights of the Dana Porter, Part 5
Renison University College students love to pull this prank quite regularly. By arranging the curtains of the Dana Porter Library they spell out the names of their residence floors.
Here we have examples of the “LOFT” (November 10, 2008), “OASIS” (March 13, 2011), and “Down Under” floors (March 9, 2011).

November 23, 2005 — Some students wrote “ECE” (Electrical and Computer Engineering) and a smiley face (two eyes, a nose, and a mouth) on the building by arranging the curtains of the Dana Porter Library.
A user by the name of “wen” claimed responsibility and posted pictures. An “Adrian Wing” also posted this picture to 1up.com
According to one post, the lights were this way from “6:15pm until at least 11pm”.
Congrats ECE majors.

September 10, 2006 — As part of Orientation Week celebrations, someone rearranged the curtains in the windows of the Dana Porter Library to spell “TOGA”. (A toga party is a staple of the university’s Orientation Week program)
This picture is from the Daily Bulletin, which credits the photo to optometry student Adam Hill.

November 2, 2008 — Several Conrad Grebel students arranged the curtains in the windows of the Dana Porter library to spell “PEACE”. The group responsible made several videos of the prank and uploaded them to Youtube. They can be seen here and here.
The prank was mentioned in the Daily Bulletin

A prank that’s been happening for some time now is the adjusting of the curtains on the Dana Porter Library to spell out various words and phrases. This example is from April 2006. (during exam period) There have been many other phrases, and as such, each day of this week we will be showcasing a different pattern.
